Medicinal Hot Chocolate!

I know, I know, when you hear about hot chocolate the last thing you think of is medicine, right? I promise you this hot chocolate recipe is DELICIOUS but it's also loaded with good nutrition. After all, food is medicine.

I'm all about stacking. I love to combine as many herbs and spices as possible into drinks and recipes and to do so in a way that is so delicious that even the most skeptical members of your family will want more.

This is a hot chocolate recipe that is a favourite in my family. Simple, delicious and very nutritious! This recipe makes 2 cups. These measurements are just guidelines so feel free to use more or less of anything.

  • 4 tbs pure organic raw cacao powder

  • 2 mugs of oat milk (you can use any kind of milk you prefer including actual cow's milk)

Combine the cacao and oat milk and bring to a boil (or warm enough that you can mix in the cacao fully)

Once combined, add the mixture to a vitamix or blender and add the following, then blend until everything is fully mixed:

  • 1/4-1/2 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1/4-1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2-1 tsp ashwagandha root powder

  • 1/2-1 tsp mushroom powder

  • 1-2 scoops collagen

  • 1 tsp coconut oil

  • 1 tsp raw honey
