What is Conscious Conception?
Simply put, conscious conception is the idea that you can communicate with the spirit of your child before they are physically conceived. This relationship is powerful for a number of reasons, but perhaps the most relevant reason is that your child's spirit can help guide you through the process of conception, pregnancy and childbirth.
For some people this may be a difficult concept to understand. However, pregnancy and childbirth have always been mysterious and awe-inspiring events through out human history, and even today, we don't fully understand pregnancy or childbirth medically or scientifically. If we did, 100 per cent of people who wished to conceive would do so successfully 100 per cent of the time and every pregnancy would be both predictable and healthy. Unfortunately we know that this is not the case. Sometimes even when conditions seem perfect or the most advanced reproductive technologies like IVF are involved, people still struggle to conceive. Conversely, there are situations when it "shouldn't" be possible and yet somehow a baby is conceived.
Western medical methods tend to focus solely on the individual physical parts (health of the uterus, sperm and egg quality and hormone levels, for example). While these are undeniably vital components of healthy and successful reproduction, conscious conception opens us up to the energetic and spiritual dimensions of conception, pregnancy and childbirth, which tend to either be under-addressed or completely ignored in conventional fertility clinics. As is the case with any health concern, all aspects must be explored including the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual- fertility is no different.
Conscious conception believes the following:
Pregnancy and childbirth are inherently spiritual, intuitive, and instinctual experiences.
The relationship between parents and children can begin before conception has occurred.
Children want to help their parents, and have the ability to do so. They want to come into the world and can guide you so that conditions are optimal for their arrival.
Children choose their parents for a reason.
Parents, and especially the person carrying the child, can choose their child as well (to a certain extent).
Ultimately, conscious conception is about tuning into your own heart and intuition to get a sense of what may be getting in the way of your ability to conceive. It is a beautiful and empowering approach that allows you to call in the spirit of your child, so that you can work together to bring him or her into the world.
