Herbal Oatmeal Recipe
I love preparing foods for my family that make it super easy to include nutritious herbs and spices.
This oatmeal recipe is a favourite at my house so I'm excited to share the recipe with you. The herbs are of course, optional so use (or lose!) whatever you like. These proportions are just suggestions. I usually don't measure anything, so feel free to play around and find the combination that you enjoy the most!
1 cup of gluten-free rolled or steel cut oats (the company I use is One Degree Organics because their oats are not only certified glyphosate-free, but they're also sprouted)
1/2 cup filtered water
cinnamon to taste
1 tsp chia seeds
1/4- 1/2 tsp marshmallow root powder
1/4-1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4- 1/2 tsp ashwagandha root powder
1/4-1/2 tsp 5-mushroom blend
maple syrup or raw honey to taste
hemp hearts
blueberries, pomegranate, apples, or any other fruits you may enjoy
Instructions:
Combine the oats, water, cinnamon, chia seeds, and herbs in a pot. Cook until oats reach your desired consistency.
Top with hemp hearts, raw honey or maple syrup, and any fruits that you may enjoy!
If you decide to include any or all of the herbs mentioned, I strongly recommend looking for organic herbs and spices. The company that I use for all of my herbs and spices is Harmonic Arts. Use the discount code RenataM15 at checkout and save 15% on your order.
Bon appetit!
